Adorable Adoptables

Wiggly Tails works with Adopt-A-Pet.  Adopt-A-Pet is an all volunteer not-for-profit animal adoption agency dedicated to saving the lives of lost, abandoned or otherwise homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. The animals do not stay in a "shelter", but live with families in foster homes. With this the animals are less stressed and happier. They were founded in 1981, and have since saved the lives of over 14,000 otherwise doomed animals. All Adopt-A-Pet animals are found permanent loving homes.

Pictured below are dogs that are currently being fostered at Wiggly Tails.  Come by and see for yourself how loving these pooches are!  Viewing available Monday thru Friday by appointment only. To start the adoption process you must contact Adopt-A-Pet, Inc at www.adoptapet-il.org or by calling them at (847) 870-8999.

No new pets at this time. Please check back soon!

MIRANDA

UPDATE: Miranda found a loving family and now lives in Wisconsin!

Miranda is a 2 or 3 yr old Spaniel mix. This girl is active! She loves to run and chase the dogs that play ball and will play ball one-on-one with you. She is shy at first when meeting new people, but if you give her time she'll grow on you. She is possessive with food when other dogs are around so she needs some training and needs to learn who is the leader of the pack. This girl will need to be the only pet in the home and we recommend no children under 13. Miranda only wants to please you and give you kisses, hugs, and snuggle on your lap.

COAL

UPDATE: Congrats Coal! You've found your new forever home!

Coal is a 7-8 month old Labrador Mix. He has super soft hair and it's somewhat long/curly. He's a tiny boy with a lot of energy. Coal is your typical puppy. He loves other dogs and plays well with them. He loves people and enjoys cuddling on your lap. Coal is a survivor from a shelter in Southern IL that caught on fire :( Come see this little guy today. He's sure to win your heart.

MINNIE TULIP

UPDATE: Tulip was adopted by a lovely family! We hope she continues to do well and gain the confidence we know she has. Good Luck Girl!

Minnie Tulip came to us very shy and very afraid. With a lot of love, time, work, she became a very happy and loyal girl. She is a 5-year-old Corgi Mix (possibly has some beagle in her) and weighs about 50lbs. She does well with quiet dogs, but does not like to be around rambunctious or playful puppies. She's one who would love to sit at home with you all day and take a nap on the couch with you.

MOLLY

UPDATE: After attending an adoption show over the weekend, Molly found a family and was adopted!

Molly is a 5-month old Labrador/Terrier Mix. She is about 20-25lbs right now and believe she may be able to hit 50lbs when she's fully grown! This girl love, Love, LOVES to play with other dogs! But her favorite thing to do is curl up on your lap and cuddle with you. She also loves people and is not shy to come say hello. When she came to us, her ears were floppy, but are starting to stand up! She's a sweet girl with a ton of affection. Molly will need someone who has a fenced yard to exercise her and give her the proper training she needs. We think she will do well with older kids (8+ yrs) because she can be a little rambunctious.

Can You give this friendly, charming girl a forever home?

BOONE

UPDATE: Boone attended an Adopt-A-Pet adoption show and found his new family. Good Luck!

Boone is a 8 month old tiny "looks-like-a-Shepherd" mix. Boone is very playful and a high energy pup. He will need some training to learn the basic behaviors, but is a pretty calm guy. He Loves other dogs and plays well with staff. Boone will definitely need someone who can exercise him daily. He may be little, but he's a big ball full of spunk!

COOKIE

Update: Cookie was adopted this weekend by a very loving family. Good Luck Cookie! We'll see you around.

Cookie is a small 5-year-old, altered, Shepherd Mix. She came to us April 28th and attended the adoption show over the weekend, but did not find her new home. She is a sweet girl who loves to be pet and loves other dogs. She plays well and has not shown any aggression whatsoever. She is crate trained but does bark for the first few minutes after being put in. She does quiet down once you leave. She came from Animal Care & Control in Chicago and do not know much about her past. Come by and see this sweet girl in person. She's sure to win your heart.

CANDICE "CANDY"

UPDATE: Candice attended the Adopt-A-Pet Adoption show over the weekend and found her new forever home. Good Luck Girl!

Candice "Candy" came to us April 26th. She is a 3-year-old, altered female weighing in at about 50lbs. She does need to gain a little weight, but she won't be over 60lbs. She is a tiny Lab mix and is a unique Caramel color, hence the name Candice Candy for her candy caramel color. So far she has been a pleasure! She loves to meet people and give them kisses and does well with other dogs. She does seem to know some basic obedience like sit and come, so we can only assume she'll know others, but we're going to work on them. Check up on her again soon for more updates on this absolute cutie!

MARLEY

UPDATE: Marley attended the Adopt-A-Pet Adoption show over the weekend and found his new forever home. Good Luck Marley!

Marley is a Chocolate Labrador who is about 2 years old. He is neutered and up-to-date on all of his shots. Marley is your typical energized, rambunctious, adorable, goofy lab. He loves to play with other dogs and of course loves tennis balls. Marley came to us in mid-February and has been a pleasure to have around. He will need to go through basic obedience training to learn the basic commands, but we feel he will be quite a fast learner as he will do almost anything for food. He will need a family who can keep up with his high energy level and exercise him daily.

ASTRO

UPDATE: Astro attended the Adopt-A-Pet Adoption show over the weekend and found his new forever home. Good Luck Astro! We'll see you around!

Astro is an 8-month-old Beagle/Lab mix. He only weighs 25lbs and will most likely not get much bigger. Astro arrived here on February 1st. He plays well with other dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. He has been such a pleasure to have around! He was a little shy of us at first, but has warmed up quickly to us. Therefore, he will probably be shy of new people, but with a little more socialization we think he'll be just fine. Astro is doing well in a crate, however he does have accidents from time to time. We expect that from a puppy though and think he'll grow out of it as he gets a little older and gets a bathroom routine down.

REMINGTON

Remington is a 1 1/2 year old, neutered male, Husky/Shepherd mix. He came to us November 13th. He has been such a sweetheart, full of kisses and hugs. Is a little shy, but once he gets to know you he'll be glued to your side. Remi plays amazingly well with the other dogs and is a perfect pooch. He has never shown any type of aggression towards dogs or the staff.

CHARLIE

UPDATE: Charlie found himself a new forever home! He attended the adoption show at the Northbrook PetSmart and someone fell in love with him. Congrats and good luck Charlie!

Charlie is a cuddly 1-year-old, neutered male, Lab/Chow mix. He arrived at Wiggly Tails September 21st. He gets along with all ages and sizes of dogs, but really Loves people. He can often be found taking a nap on the staff's laps or looking for a kiss. Don't be fooled though, this boy has a ton of energy and loves to run!

HAMLIN

UPDATE:  Hamlin has found a home!! One of the former Wiggly Tails staff, Caitlin, has opened her heart and home to this wonderful dog.  The best news is that we will be seeing Hamlin all the time!!!  Three cheers for Caitlin!!

Hamlin is a super sweet Shepard/Chow mix (Probably some Lab and other stuff as well!).  He arrived at Wiggly Tails August 10th.  He gets along wonderfully with all other dogs.  Is totally non-aggressive and as far as we can tell would be an absolutely wonderful family pet.
